Thumbsucking is something children, as infants, are naturally inclined to do. Babies are inclined to suck their thumb and they even do this in the womb. Sometimes they would even suck on their hands, fingers and, if they can get to them, their toes. If your baby or infant is into thumbsucking you don’t need to be alarmed at that time.
Once a child hits the age of 4 thumbsucking can become a potential problem. This is an important time in the formation of their mouth and the constant act of thumbsucking can cause future dental problems.
