"Many homebuyers instinctively imagine themselves in a detached property, but there are many advantages to buying a condo. In fact, many buyers are opting for condos, because this type of real estate has many benefits, including: 1) No maintenance. There is a great deal of cost and time involved in maintaining a house. You need to clean the gutters, mow the lawn, clear snow from the sidewalk and clean the exterior of your home in order to maintain the property and its value. With a condo, these extra jobs are simply not a problem. The condo management company will take care of the heating system, plumbing, windows, sidewalks, and common areas. 2) Good security. In most cities today, personal security is a key concern, especially for those living alone. Condos often feature great security features such as doormen, secure parking, and guarded entrances. Some even offer valet parking. This is advantageous not only for your own peace of mind, but also for your insurance costs. 3) Less cost for common areas and amenities. If you wish to enjoy certain amenities in a house, you need to pay for them. Condos, however, often include all manner of wonderful amenities including pools, theater rooms, conference rooms, party rooms, wireless Internet access, concierge service, maid service, exercise rooms, barbeque pits, and much more. You can quite simply live better in a condo for less cost because you do not need to carry the cost of these services yourself. 4) New properties in central neighborhoods. If you are considering new construction homes, you may find that many of these properties are located outside of city limits sometimes far outside the city limits. Condos allow you to live in an urban center but do not require you to opt for an older home. Also, condos allow you to live in a city center at a lower cost than owning a property. In most downtown areas, space is at a premium and most homes tend to be very expensive. Condos, however, add affordable residential space in these desirable area so that you can afford to live where and how you want."
